My name is Dr. Miranda and I have been a physical therapist for over 15 years, previously in North Carolina and currently on Whidbey Island. I love working one on one with patients and believe that healing starts with listening. My mission is to help you heal and return to your normal life as soon as possible!
I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I completed the American Physical Therapy Association’s vestibular competency training in 2007. I went on to take further training in dizziness related to the neck, whiplash and headaches in 2008.
In addition to vestibular rehabilitation (assessment and treatment of dizziness), my specialties include manual therapy, individualized patient education and home exercise prescription. I am a certified dry needler through Myopain. Since physical therapists cannot currently dry needle in Washington, I am using Fascial Counterstrain to treat patients’ pain. My fascial training with dry needling and Counterstrain help me identify sources and contributors to pain and dysfunction that might be referred to other parts of the body. This includes contributors to neck and headache pain as well as dizziness.
I am experienced and love working with a myriad of patient presentations. These include orthopedic problems of the spine and peripheral joints, headaches and physical pain associated with chronic disease. My patients have responded well to relaxation training and exercises that I have prescribed.
I look forward to meeting you and being part of your healing process!
