Background

My name is Dr. Miranda and I have been a physical therapist for over 17 years. As a former collegiate soccer player and current outdoors lover who struggles with migraines, I have personal experience of being active and having pains that threaten to keep me from it! My home is in WA and I provide home visits there and Telehealth and contract services in other states. I love working one on one with patients and believe that healing starts with listening. My mission is to help you heal and return to your normal life as soon as possible!

I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I completed the American Physical Therapy Association’s vestibular competency training in 2007. I went on to take further training in dizziness related to the neck, whiplash and headaches in 2008. In 2020, I completed concussion certification through CCMI (Complete Concussion Management).

In addition to vestibular rehabilitation (assessment and treatment of dizziness), my specialties include manual therapy, individualized patient education and home exercise prescription. I am a certified dry needler through Myopain. Since physical therapists cannot currently dry needle in Washington, I am using Counterstrain to treat patients’ pain there. My fascial training with dry needling and Counterstrain help me identify contributors to pain and dysfunction that refer to other parts of the body. This includes contributors to neck and headache pain as well as dizziness. I am a Buteyko Breathing Instructor and love assisting patients in managing pain, anxiety and sleep using this technique. I am a LSVT BIG certified therapist and enjoy helping patients with Parkinson’s Disease move bigger and more confidently.

I am experienced and love working with a myriad of patient presentations. These include orthopedic problems of the spine and peripheral joints, headaches and physical pain associated with chronic disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and dizziness from many sources. My patients have responded well to relaxation training and exercises that I have prescribed.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your healing process!

Warmly,

Dr. Miranda
